About
MacRevival is a Maine corporation founded in 2008 by me, Tom Beal, in Blue Hill, Maine. I started my previous business, MacMobile, in Maine in 1997. In 1999, I moved my company to Columbus, Ohio. In July, 2008, I returned to Maine to raise a family and return to helping Mac users in the area.
I am a Mac lover and have been working with Apple computers since 1979. I am an expert technician and enjoy my work thoroughly. I received Apple Service Technician certification for Macintosh and PowerBook service and repair in 1995 and recertified as Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) in 2010. I hold Mac OS X support certifications* since version 10.1 and am an Apple Certified Support Professional for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
In 1997, I co-founded Down East Mac OS Users Group. Now that I have returned to Maine, I resume my membership in this great organization supporting local Mac users. In 1998 and 1999, I taught classes at Ellsworth Adult Education on Macintosh applications such as Photoshop and in web design.
I have been a member of the Apple Consultants Network since 2001. The Apple Consultants Network is a community of independent consultants who bring expertise in Apple and third party solutions to suit your needs.
I am also a fan of science fiction and am the webmaster, podcaster, and a sometimes voice actor for Darker Projects, an audio production company with free downloads and podcasts of many science fiction and horror audio dramas.
MacRevival is a Sustaining Business Member of WERU, a community radio station. When you’re in the Blue Hill area, tune in at 89.9 FM or listen online at weru.org. I love the wide range of music I hear.
* My Mac OS X certifications include ACTC (Apple Certified Technical Coordinator) 10.1, ACHDS 10.3 (Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist), and ACSP (Apple Certified Support Professional) 10.5.
