FAQ

What types of devices are you accepting?
We’re primarily accepting computers (laptops, desktops, towers, mini-PCs), tablets, and related accessories. Other small electronics may be accepted—just ask! Note: CRT monitors cost us to recycle, so we charge our cost, $10, per CRT.
Do you accept TVs or large appliances?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept TVs, kitchen appliances, or large electronics. Please contact your local transfer station for disposal options.
Can I bring a device that doesn’t work?
Yes! Devices do not need to be functional. We accept broken or non-working computers for recycling.
Is there a limit to how many devices I can bring?
No formal limit, but if you're planning to bring a large quantity (e.g., more than 10 devices), please call us in advance so we can prepare.
Can businesses or organizations drop off devices?
Yes, we welcome bulk donations from businesses, schools, and nonprofits. Please contact us ahead of time to coordinate.
Do I need to remove my hard drive before recycling?
You’re welcome to remove your hard drive, but it’s not required. We do our best to wipe or securely destroy drives, and our recycling partner safely disassembles remaining units.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
We are not a nonprofit organization, so donations are not tax-deductible. However, your contribution still helps reduce e-waste and support local tech reuse.
Will my device be refurbished or just recycled?
By signing the e-waste release, you allow us to assess whether your device is a candidate for refurbishment. We will prioritize refurbishment over recycling.
How can we guarantee that devices will be securely destroyed if we cannot wipe them?
Our recycling partner, Upcycle USA, works with a downstream vendor who breaks down these devices, removes all precious metals, and recycles the remaining components.
Will I receive a certificate or proof that my data was destroyed?
Upon request, we can provide a data wipe certificate for a fee of $20 per drive.
If I don’t want to donate my device, can I just come for data destruction services?
Sure! Please note that this is a paid service, with fees starting at $70. You will need to leave your device with us and we will erase the drive and return your device to you. Expected turnaround time for this service is 10 business days.
How will my donation help the environment?
By donating your e-waste, you’re helping keep your device out of landfills, reducing its harmful impact on the environment!
Will you send updates on the progress of the event or its impact?
Absolutely! Follow us on Facebook to see event updates! We’ll also be sharing the results and highlights from the event afterward.
