FAQ
- Will my device be refurbished or just recycled?
- By signing the e-waste release, you allow us to assess whether your device is a candidate for refurbishment. We will prioritize refurbishment over recycling.
- How can we guarantee that devices will be securely destroyed if we cannot wipe them?
- Our recycling partner, Upcycle USA, works with a downstream vendor who breaks down these devices, removes all precious metals, and recycles the remaining components.
- Will I receive a certificate or proof that my data was destroyed?
- Upon request, we can provide a data wipe certificate for a fee of $20 per drive.
- If I don’t want to donate my device, can I just come for data destruction services?
- Sure! Please note that this is a paid service, with fees starting at $70. You will need to leave your device with us and we will erase the drive and return your device to you. Expected turnaround time for this service is 10 business days.
- How will my donation help the environment?
- By donating your e-waste, you’re helping keep your device out of landfills, reducing its harmful impact on the environment!
- Will you send updates on the progress of the event or its impact?
- Absolutely! Follow us on Facebook to see event updates! We’ll also be sharing the results and highlights from the event afterward.
